Isaac Thomas was born May 9, 1932 to the union of Christine Jenkins and James Thomas in Ferriday Louisiana. He attend Sevier/Rosenwald high school in Ferriday, Lousiaian.
After high school Isaac enrolled in Grambling State University. Where he attained a bachelor degree in education. He also attend Southern University, where he attain his master degree in education administration and supervision.
In 1956, Isaac was employed by St. Martin Parish School Board to bring education to the northern part of the parish for African Americans as a math teacher. The name of the school was Huron Elementary. Mrs. Broussard was teh principal at that time. In 1957, he married Andrella Hypolite. A few years later Isaac became principal of Huron Elementary when Mrs. Broussard became principal of Teche Middle School. Isaac left Huron elementary after many years to become a supervisor for St. Martin parish School Board. He was offered a position to become principal at Breaux Bridge Elementary. But he took the position of principal at Teche Elementary. He retired from St. Martin Parish School Board at Teche elementary after 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his son Brett, wife Andrella (Coach), his mother Christine, his father James (Pa-Pa Jim), his brother James (Brother), his brother Henry (Scase), his brother David Jenkins (lil Son) and his sister Lillie Mae (Aunt Bit).
He is survived by his devoted sons, Isaac D. Thomas (Rachael) of St. Martinville, Everette P. Thomas (Teddy Raquel) of Breaux Bridge; Eight grandchildren Bobby Preston Jr., Chemeka Thornton (Kyle) of Humble, TX, Jeremy Thomas (Tameka) of Broussard, Andrel (Brandi) of Broussard, Darrien Thomas of Odessa, TX, Chandler Thomas (Tera) of Breaux Bridge, Racquel Charles and Steven Charles of St. Martinville; Seven Great Grand Children Kyran, Kyle, Kennedi, Saniya, Jayden, Ashton and Carslic: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Our Father will be deeply missed by his family and those who crossed his path in his journey thru life.
